About Me

Over the past 25 years, I have represented individuals, juveniles, and organizations in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters (see below). For most of this time, I practiced law in East Texas (Kaufman and Henderson Counties). I recently moved to Cuero to be near family and friends living in DeWitt County. I opened my new law office in Cuero and serve clients in the above-referenced counties.

I earned my Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from the Baylor University School of Law. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in Real Estate Investments and Analysis from the University of North Texas. I have been licensed by the Texas Supreme Court since 1998 (SBN 24004077) and have been in private legal practice since.

As shown on the state bar website (TexasBar.com), I have a flawless disciplinary record because I ensure my clients are satisfied with my representation. I keep them updated and informed about their case and return their calls as quickly as possible (usually on the same day). I never forget that, in most instances, their case is the most important thing in their lives.

While I cannot guarantee outcomes (no attorney can), I assure you that I will prepare and show up ready, willing, and able to fight for you. As the old saying goes, “The best way to stay out of war is to prepare for one.” I will come prepared for war. That is when the best plea offers are made, or the entire case gets dismissed. The prosecutors know which attorneys will go to the mat fighting (e.g., go to a jury trial) and which ones will not.

Practice Areas &

Free Legal Consultation

My practice is primarily limited to individuals and juveniles charged with crimes in Victoria, DeWitt (Cuero county seat), Calhoun (Port Lavaca), Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson (Edna), and Lavaca (Hallettsville) counties.

My first legal consultation is always free. There are no tricks or gimmicks associated with it. This a full legal consultation that would typically cost several hundreds of dollars. I do not hold back on legal advice or my opinions. Contact my office; I will gladly meet with you on evenings or weekends if necessary. I understand people have jobs, and taking off from work just costs them more.

I am not the cheapest attorney you can hire for a reason. But if you decide you want to hire me, I will work with you so you can afford my services. I accept all forms of payments, including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.

I know these are challenging times. That is why I will set you up on a payment plan, and I will even consider taking personal property in trade for full or partial payment. I do not want clients having fire sales selling their personal property to pay my fees, and then taking a beating financially. That adds insult to injury.

While I am currently limiting my practice generally to criminal defense cases, please note that I am well-versed and have experience in several areas of the law, including, but not limited to:

  • Family Law (e.g., divorce, child custody and support, adoption, and other related issues);
  • Estate Planning and Probate (e.g., creating wills and trusts, handling estates and probate proceedings, and providing guidance on matters related to inheritance and asset distribution);
  • Real Estate (e.g., handling residential and commercial real estate transactions, leasing agreements, and property disputes);
  • Business Law (e.g., forming businesses, drafting contracts, negotiating deals, and providing general legal advice to business owners);
  • Personal Injury (e.g., cases involving car accidents, medical malpractice, and other situations where an individual has been injured due to the negligence of another party);
  • Employment Law (e.g., issues related to workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes), and
  • Immigration Law (e.g., helping clients navigate the immigration system, obtain visas and work permits, and handle issues related to deportation and citizenship).
