Helping Texans Since 1998
I am a Texas attorney and a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) licensed private investigator (PI). I have practiced civil and criminal law in private practice since 1998 and have held a PI license since 2020. Of more than 118,000 licensed Texas lawyers, I am one of fewer than 20 who are also professionally trained and licensed private investigators. I also own a private investigation firm with a team of investigators focused on financial investigations (Texas Financial Investigators DPS #A12677101).
I grew up in Kaufman County, near Dallas. After high school, I spent six years as a Teamster and diesel mechanic for a freight line, then went back to school. I graduated with honors (cum laude) from the University of North Texas with a BBA in Real Estate Investments and Analysis. I was named Outstanding Student in Real Estate and was on the Dean’s List.
For the next decade, I worked as a real estate consultant, analyst, and executive with two banks and the FDIC. In 1995, I enrolled at Baylor Law School because it was the state’s top trial school. I was on the Dean’s List and graduated in 27 months. Baylor Law is ranked No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in Texas in trial advocacy by U.S. News & World Report. Due to my moot court and mock trial abilities and performance, I was selected by the faculty for the Order of Barristers, a national honor society for oral advocacy, brief writing, moot court, and mock trial. Membership is limited; each chapter school chooses only a small number of graduating students each year (about 10 students per school). Membership is not given; it is earned.
I moved to this area about ten years ago and live outside of Cuero. Since 1998, I have represented adults and juveniles in Texas courts in felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases. That work includes DWI and drug charges, assault and family violence, property crimes, and serious felonies, including first-degree murder. Juvenile matters range from detention and probation to cases that can be transferred to adult court.
I have offices in Victoria and Cuero. I take cases in DeWitt (Cuero), Victoria, Jackson (Edna), Goliad, Gonzales, Refugio, Calhoun (Port Lavaca), Lavaca, and nearby counties. When the case calls for it, I will represent clients statewide.
If you are charged with a crime, or think you may be, call me. I will discuss the case by phone or in person at no charge. No tricks, no gimmicks, and no hard sell. I will take the time to answer your questions and walk you through how the law and the facts apply. I want you to understand the case almost as well as I do.
